I am a Dutch production sound mixer and boom operator based in The Hague, the Netherlands. I graduated in sound design at the Netherlands Film Academy (NFA) in 2018.
My passion for sound has been a constant in my life. I started building amplifiers with knickknacks and playing with old radios when I was a kid. My love for film started in 2012 during an internship at Cue Creative in The Hague. A year later, I decided to study sound design at the Dutch Film Academy in Amsterdam, where I learned to tell a story through sound.
Everyone interprets sound differently. My goal as a production sound mixer is to create consistency between picture and sound, which together make up the story. It is not just about listening but understanding sound and its added value. I seek to record audio with the highest quality possible, ensuring that sound contributes to the story of the film, giving the right message to the spectator.
I like to prepare in advance and think about the right approach for every project, working closely with the sound designers from the beginning. Finding the right balance between picture and sound during sound recording and sound design is my priority.
